When I began a 12-month gap year from everyday life, I decided that my first stop would be a place that couldn’t compare with anywhere else - Antarctica.

From colossal icebergs to gigantic glaciers and endless encounters with amazing wildlife, the 7th continent is one of the most extreme, eerie, vast, and beautiful places on Earth. And I had the pleasure of witnessing it firsthand.

Antarctica must be visited in person to truly appreciate its scale and incredible landscape. I travelled on a ship for 10 days to the Antarctic Peninsula with 60 passengers, where I had the pleasure of meeting new people from various parts of the world. Simply sharing such a special experience with others has helped me learn so much about life and given me a new circle of friendships that will never be forgotten.

Now, looking back on the experience, it truly feels like a dream - a dream that I'll never forget and one that I will cherish for the rest of my life!
