For me, photography has always been an excuse to travel and get into adventures. I used to do a lot of writing, but it took me a long time to write and a photograph can be done quickly and effectively.

When the world is in such a state and places like this are endangered, it's a great privilege to come here and make photographs.

To come to a place that is as naturally beautiful as Antarctica is a bit of a change for me. When the world is in such a state and places like this are endangered, it’s a great privilege to come here and make photographs.

But it's still all about the people. When you put people into interesting locations, you have the best of everything when it comes to photography. I think that all humans want to tell a story, and to be able to come back from a place like Antarctica and explain what they’ve seen and experienced in words or photos… I think that makes people happy.
